Pinks, Lavenders, and Purples

Pinkish/lavender is probably the most common color form for many orchids, especially the large unifoliate cattleyas. Most cattleya species are lavender in the wild so most of the early cattleya hybrids were some shade of lavender/pink, and there is still plenty of hybridizing going on with this color. These are what most people think of as the typical corsage orchid. True pink orchids are rare, but darker color forms have been commonly bred so shades of purple are often found.
